As a certified industrial mechanic with over twenty years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling across the oil, gas, and chemical industries, I have a proven track record. I've spent fifteen years working with SAP and seven years with Maximo. This includes being part of an implementation team responsible for the successful migration from SAP to Maximo in an oil facility, resulting from a change of ownership.

My journey with artificial intelligence began unexpectedly through a travel blog I started as a hobby a couple of years ago. Working with AI tools on the website sparked deeper curiosity about how AI actually works. To keep up with developments, I've taken some online courses in Python programming and data science, experimented with local large language models, and trained models on maintenance-related datasets. I even used AI to create a learning plan—so that I could learn about AI.

My objective now is to try and understand how to bridge the gap between what AI has to offer and what it can actually do for the workers on the front line. Predictive maintenance will play a hand in the when and how a pump will be scheduled for maintenance. Beyond that, its hard for a mechanic to see what AI can do for him. A mechanic doesn't need AI to write him an email! What he could use is the latest vendor manual for the pump he is working on later today. There is a critical gap between what AI researchers have achieved and what frontline industrial workers need to accomplish their jobs effectively. Bridging this gap will help with the implementation in AI in maintenance and help eliminate or reduce any pain points

My goal is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and practical operational reality, drawing on decades of frontline experience combined with emerging AI knowledge.
